Extreme Makeover

Do you have that Bible that you both love, and love to study from? But when you’re using it, it wants to fight you. It just won’t stay flat and it really wants to close on you. It becomes frustrating and nearly unusable if you are near the front end or back end trying to study, preach, or teach from it.

In this very short blog we will have some before and after pics of just such a problem text block. Showing its true transformation from a faux leather bound, spring loaded nightmare to use, into into a beautiful user friendly study tool.

The block in question is a Zondervan printing of the Hebrew Old Testament and the Greek New Testament. It is a sewn block that was bound in a faux leather that was very tight. In the first set of photos you will see that even open well into the block it still was not close to laying flat. Much further to the front and it needed to literally be held open.

It truly would fight you and just did not like opening flat.

The next following photos will show its total transformation into a truly beautiful user friendly block. It gives you an open invitation to be used.

It is now beautifully covered in Black Sokoto Traditional Goatskin with Ocean Blue Lambskin as the liner.
